In this 2-part class, you will learn all the basics of making jewelry with simple hand tools. You will learn to layout and transfer designs saw, pierce, drill, file, texture, forge, anneal, polish, and rivet. This class serves to qualify someone for using the Jewelry Lab at The Forge.
Day One: 2ndTuesday of the month 4:00 to 7:30 PM
With demonstrations and hands-on applications, students will learn the basic safety and operation of stationary power tools and torches in the jewelry lab.
Day Two: To be scheduled individually with Certifier within a month of the initial class session.
In this second 3-hour session, students will make a simple pendant using each of the stationary power tools, and torches, and will learn the use of basic hand tools provided.
No experience is necessary. All tools and materials are provided.
To complete this for The Curious Forge membership qualification, one will do a practicum/quizzes the week after the class.
Class Minimum 2 students. Please note, if the minimum is not met class will be rescheduled to a later date
Please be sure to arrive a few minutes early to get settled.
It is your responsibility to show up on time for your class. You may not be able to participate if you are late.
