Series of class DescriptionsWhat you’ll learn

Tired of carrying around so much unnecessary baggage? Have you ever dreamed it possible that you can have everything you need in a sub 10 lbs backpack?  In “MYOG” Make Your Own Gear—Ultra Light Weight Travel & Backpacking, you’ll first build up sewing skills in the prerequisite class of the series, Stuff Sacks & Fanny Pack, so you’ll be equipped to personally tailor the “big 3”—your own Backpack, Tarp Tent with Bug Net, & Sleeping Quilt.  These 3 designs are now becoming the foundational designs, or “bases”, in which the entire ultra-light weight backpacking paradigm is founded on.  You’ll learn these classics which will set you free to radically reduce your pack weight while traveling & experience safer, more enjoyable on-foot exploration.  In Stuff Sacks & Fanny Pack, you’ll learn basic pattern making, cutting technical fabrics & sewing skills.  Here, you’ll build your confidence & capabilities to affront more complex projects.  This prerequisite will be offered throughout the series to help you fortify your sewing techniques & to give the opportunity for newbies to join.  Future 2023 series will include design innovation on these bases—fusing the European approach using classic bases with cutting edge gear design giving rise to serious innovation to occur.

Class 3 minimum/6 maximum participants – (please note: if attendance does not meet minimum, class will be rescheduled)
