Introducing a Smart Art Series at the Curious Forge, connecting Artists with technology to inspire and expand technology options in your art.
This presentation will cover simple plug-and-play modules for controlling LED lights and strips and a brief overview of Off-the-shelf Plugins, Pattern Controllers, Remote Control, and Phone Controllers
This presentation will also introduce a new 4-session series for more in-depth control and interactivity of your art projects using the “Circuit Express” Arduino based experimenters card.
Each new session will delve into different sensors, graphical programming, and soldering skills and end with a personally designed art project using skills developed in the previous sessions. If you have ever wanted to look “under the hood” or wanted more interactivity in your art projects, this is the course for you!
No programming or electronics experience needed
This Presentation is a brief overview of the next four Smart Art Electronic Art Classes at The Curious Forge with Michael Pierce. This series will span simple programming to in-depth activity using various sensors and components to light up your art!
Michael Pierce: Born in Australia, Michael received a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Sydney University and later an MBA from Rutgers in New Jersey. Recently retired from a career in electronic product development, he has worked for large and small companies developing various types of equipment including radio station automation equipment, commercial security, fire alarm systems, point of sale systems, and most recently home automation systems specializing in automated lighting systems. He enjoys helping other artists and makers learn about these technologies and how they can incorporate them into their own projects. He is particularly excited and interested in the intersection of art and technology.
