Membership Process Overview
Embarking on your journey to become a member of the Forge is designed to fully integrate you into our creative community. Your path to membership involves eight key steps, each crafted to ensure you are well-informed, prepared, and connected with our community. The steps are outlined below. You can review them, or jump right into the process.
Step 1: Watch the Membership Video:
You will start your journey by watching our introductory video. This video will provide insights into the membership process, and what it takes to get started with your creative journey at the Forge.
Step 2: Creating Your Account:
Following the video, you will create an account on our website. Your account will serve as your personal hub for managing your membership, signing up for classes, and accessing online courses.
Step 3: Filling Out the Information Form:
Next, you will fill out a brief information form. This includes your personal details, interests, and any relevant experience. This information allows us to tailor your experience and keep you informed about areas of your interest.
Step 4: Selecting Your Membership Type:
You will then select the membership type that best fits your needs. Our membership is a flat $95/month, however you will have the option to sign up for an annual membership, which offers one month free!
Step 5: Signing Up for Qualification Classes:
Safety and proficiency are our priorities. You will need to complete qualification classes for each studio you wish to use. These classes are designed to ensure your safety and skill in handling our equipment. You will browse and sign up for these classes based on your interests. If you like, you may complete the qualification courses before beginning your membership so you’re ready to hit the gorund running when your membership starts.
Step 6: Completing the Online Onboarding Course:
An online onboarding course awaits you. This course covers essential rules, procedures, and etiquette of our makerspace. You will complete it at your convenience to prepare for a safe and fulfilling experience in our community.
Step 7: Attending the In-Person Onboarding Meeting:
The final step before you’re ready to start at the Forge is to attend an in-person onboarding meeting. This session will be a chance to meet the staff, get answers to your questions, and tour the space. It’s an important step for integrating into our community. This meeting is scheduled at the end of the online onboarding course.
Step 8: Starting to Make and Create:
Once these steps are completed, you will be ready to start your creative journey in our makerspace. You will embark on your projects, explore new ideas, and collaborate with other members. Our community thrives on shared creativity and learning, and you will be a valuable part of it. Welcome to the beginning of a journey filled with innovation and collaboration!
