During this hands-on skillshare, participants will learn how a vacuum press system works while assisting in the creation of skateboard deck blanks for our upcoming Youth Skateboard Camp. This is a great opportunity to explore woodworking techniques, learn about laminated veneer construction, and contribute to a meaningful community project.
What You’ll Learn:
- Basics of vacuum press operation
- Using one-part forms and molds
- Multi-layer veneer assembly and glue-ups
- Working with two-part urea resin glues
- Techniques used in skateboard deck construction
Participation Details:
- Open to all Curious Forge members
- Space for 6 hands-on participants
- Demonstration/observer participation welcome for additional attendees
- The first 6 registered participants will receive the full hands-on experience
Bonus:
Beverages, Beer & Wine, and snacks provided (No power tools will be used during the glue-up process!)
Come learn something new, connect with other members, and help us create skateboard blanks for an inspiring youth program at The Forge.
