Class Structure
Prior to Attending:
- Online Learning Materials: Access and review the Woodshop learning materials and videos provided to you upon purchase of the class- THESE MATERIALS MUST BE REVIEWED BEFORE COMING TO CLASS, IF NOT YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PROCEED
2-Day Class: Interactive Workshop (3 hours per day)
- Introduction to Woodshop Safety and Equipment: Learn about various woodshop tools, safety protocols, and best practices.
- Hands-On Training: Safely operate our standard Woodshop equipment, including setup, handling, and troubleshooting.
- Woodshop Overview: Understand the organization of the Woodshop and learn how to maximize its resources for your creative projects.
Online Assessment:
- Complete Quizzes: Take online quizzes until you achieve at least a 90% score (unlimited attempts allowed).
- Optional for Public Participants: If you’re not planning getting qualified to use The Forge’s equipment, these quizzes are optional.
Practicum: Qualification Assessment (1 hour) scheduled within 2 weeks of class
- For Forge Members: Demonstrate your proficiency and confidence in using the Woodshop equipment independently.
- Optional for Public Participants: If you’re not planning to use The Forge’s equipment, the practicum is optional.
- Scheduling: The practicum is scheduled individually with the facilitator and must be completed within 2 weeks of the class for qualification.
Class 3 maximum participants – (please note: if attendance does not meet minimum, class will be rescheduled)

Dave Sherr
Dave’s superpower is how very much he LOVES helping people. Whether support for a project or getting you through a qualification he’s there. You’ll find him in the woodshop Wednesdays from 11 to 3pm.
Please note: All classes require a minimum number of participants and may be rescheduled if that minimum is not met. If this happens, we’ll let you know in advance and work with you to get you into the next available class.
Cancellation Policy
Please review our cancellation policy before booking. If you need to cancel your registration, you must notify us at least 7 days before the class start time to receive a refund. Cancellations made within 7 days are non-refundable.
