Join us at The Curious Forge for Sunday Ceramics with Bob Davis!
3-class sessions
Discover the joy of working with clay in this immersive 3 class session workshop at The Curious Forge! Whether you’re brand new to ceramics or looking to expand your skills, this class with instructor Bob Davis is designed to give you a well-rounded understanding of this dynamic medium.
You’ll explore a variety of techniques, including:
- Potter’s Wheel – Learn the fundamentals of throwing and shaping clay.
- Hand-Building – Create unique forms using slabs, coils, and extruders.
- Surface Design & Embellishment – Experiment with textures, patterns, and finishing techniques.
Throughout the course, you’ll craft a variety of functional and decorative pieces—choose from sushi plates, tapas servers, cups, spoon rests, succulent planters, and more! By the end of the series, you’ll gain confidence in your skills and discover which techniques inspire you most.
No experience? No problem! This class is open to all levels, from total beginners to those looking to refine their craft.

Price: $162 + $30 materials
Total Class Time: Three 3-hour Classes = 9 hours
Note: Your Glazed pieces will be ready for pick up 7-10 days after they have been fired, or you can opt for the convenience of having your masterpiece shipped to you for a small shipping and handling fee.

About The Facilitator
Bob Davis
Bob Davis is an accomplished ceramic artist who has ceramic ware for sale in shops and galleries in Nevada City and Grass Valley, and he enjoys teaching various ceramics workshops at The Curious Forge throughout the year. Bob has a MFA in Ceramic Art from San Jose State University.
Please note: All classes require a minimum number of participants and may be rescheduled if that minimum is not met. If this happens, we’ll let you know in advance and work with you to get you into the next available class.
Cancellation Policy
Please review our cancellation policy before booking. If you need to cancel your registration, you must notify us at least 7 days before the class start time to receive a refund. Cancellations made within 7 days are non-refundable.
