Description
Dragon Coat Rack: Beginner-Intermediate Metalworking with Kian Berreman
In this two-day class, students will learn the basics of sculpting with metal. We will use basic blacksmithing techniques to form the dragon’s head, body, and wings. The CNC plasma cutter will be demonstrated to cut out the dragon’s mounting plate wings, and the 2×72 belt sander will be used to refine the sculpture’s elements. At the end of the class, we will also use MIG welders to tack-weld everything together.
At the end of the class, students will have an imaginative coat hook to display in their home, as well as a great foundation in a variety of different metalworking techniques that they can build on.
Previous blacksmithing or metalworking experience recommended, but not required. The project is technical and lengthy, but doable for a motivated beginner.
