Description
Come explore the wonderful world of costume design! We will dive into transforming everyday materials into one-of-a-kind Halloween wearables. Participants will learn basic sewing and construction techniques while turning old clothing, thrift store finds, and fun props into a costume that’s all their own. Discover the creative joy of mixing fabrics, textures, and found objects to build a look from the ground up. We will complete a finished costume to debut your new Halloween Alter Ego!
This is an awesome way to learn how to design, deconstruct, and reconstruct clothing while making unique wearable art with your own personal style!
What you will learn: How to use a domestic sewing machine, basic sewing machine stitches, hand stitching, upcycling and altering existing garments, and how to incorporate accessories and props into a cohesive costume design.
Bring: Your ideas and sketches, old clothing for recycling, thrift store finds, brooms, lace, costume jewelry, hats, wigs, and props. We will work together to create your Halloween Alter Ego!
