Discover the art of woodturning and learn to make a beautiful wood bowl using a wood lathe – no experience is required!
Are you interested in woodturning and looking to learn a new skill? In this class, you’ll learn how to turn a beautiful bowl out of wood using a lathe. The process is both rewarding and relaxing, as you take a piece of raw wood and turn it into a functional work of wood art. Under the guidance of our experienced instructor, you’ll start by learning the basics of wood lathe operation and safety. Once you’re comfortable with the equipment, we’ll move on to selecting and preparing the wood for turning. With the wood secured on the lathe, you’ll use a series of specially designed tools to shape the bowl.
At the end of the class, you’ll take home a beautiful, hand-turned bowl that you can be proud of. You’ll also have the woodturning skills and knowledge to continue turning bowls on your own.

Dave Sherr
Dave’s superpower is how very much he LOVES helping people. Whether support for a project or getting you through a qualification he’s there. You’ll find him in the woodshop Wednesdays from 11 to 3pm.
Please note: All classes require a minimum number of participants and may be rescheduled if that minimum is not met. If this happens, we’ll let you know in advance and work with you to get you into the next available class.
Cancellation Policy
Please review our cancellation policy before booking. If you need to cancel your registration, you must notify us at least 7 days before the class start time to receive a refund. Cancellations made within 7 days are non-refundable.
