Make your own wooden bowl and spindle using a woodturning lathe.
5 Hour class Wood Bowl Class
Price: Public $185 ($150 + $35 wood materials)
Class 2 minimum/4 maximum participants – (please note: if attendance does not meet minimum, class will be rescheduled) Limited to 3 students per class
Tools provided. If you have tools, please feel free to bring them.
Description: In this hands-on class, you will learn both of the main skills in woodturning, faceplate turning, and how to create the basic spindle shapes and cuts. Students will turn a small bowl.
This is the perfect class for the beginning turner or a great way to hone your wood lathe turning skills.
Safety and operational use of the lathe will be taught in the at the beginning of this class.
**Qualification for Members: This class qualifies you to use the Forge wood lathes if you are a Curious Forge Member or are wanting to become a Forge member (must become a member within 4 weeks of class). To complete the qualification process you will need to do a 1 hour practicum with the facilitator within 2 weeks of your class, arrange date & time with your facilitator.
**ADDITIONAL Qualification Fee: $25 plus $40 Carbide Lathe Tip Kit purchase for Members. The Carbide tips will be yours to keep and use with Lathes. You can purchase your Carbide Tip Kit from The Forge when you do your practicum.
You do not need to do the practicum if you are not interested use of the wood lathes as a Forge Member.
