Learn to Use the CNC Plasma Table
Prerequisites:
- Must have taken both the Laser Cutter and Handheld Plasma Torch classes to attend.
Disclaimer:
This class is not focused on technique but on learning how to use the CNC Plasma Cutting Table at The Forge. It is suitable for individuals wanting to qualify as Forge members or those wanting to learn to use their own CNC Plasma Table.
Details:
- Duration: 4-hour class and a 1-hour hands-on practicum arranged with the facilitator.
- Price: $165 +$22 materials (and an additional $20 Kit Purchase-CNC Plasma Reg Cut Tip Kit (sold at The Forge Store and yours to keep)
- Kit Purchase: The $20 CNC Plasma Reg Cut Tip Kit is required prior to certification. Purchase the kit from the Forge Store before your certification starts (arrive early).
- Class Size: Minimum 3 participants / Maximum 4 participants (Class will be rescheduled if the minimum participant requirement is not met)
Class Structure
Prior to Attending:
- Online Learning Materials: Access and review the laser cutter learning materials and videos provided to you upon purchase of the class
Class Day: Interactive Workshop (4+ hours)
- Introduction: Safety and Operations
- Hands-On Training
Online Assessment:
- Complete Quizzes: Take online quizzes until you achieve at least a 90% score (unlimited attempts allowed).
- Optional for Public Participants: If you’re not planning getting qualified to use The Forge’s equipment, these quizzes are optional.
Practicum: Qualification Assessment (≈1 hour)
- For Forge Members: Demonstrate your proficiency and confidence in using the laser cutting equipment independently.
- Optional for Public Participants: If you’re not planning to use The Forge’s equipment, the practicum is optional.
- Scheduling: The practicum is scheduled individually with the facilitator and must be completed within 2 weeks of the class for qualification.

Please note: All classes require a minimum number of participants and may be rescheduled if that minimum is not met. If this happens, we’ll let you know in advance and work with you to get you into the next available class.
Cancellation Policy
Please review our cancellation policy before booking. If you need to cancel your registration, you must notify us at least 7 days before the class start time to receive a refund. Cancellations made within 7 days are non-refundable.
