Drawing Basics – It’s Not What You Think!
This Drawing Workshop reveals the SIX Unknown Secrets to Developing Your Own Amazing Drawing Practice.
Think you can’t draw? Have no talent for drawing? Suck at drawing? Can’t draw – Can only draw stick figures? Or, maybe you can’t think of anything to draw! This workshop is designed for both total beginners as well as seasoned drawers who would like to be more creative in developing their own “style” of drawing.
Drawing curious? You are all welcome and no previous drawing experience or drawing excellence is required!
Four-part workshop meeting each week for four weeks. Each class meeting is three hours
What will you learn: Participants will learn to use many diverse drawing mediums including: woodless graphite pencils/sticks, colored pencils, vine charcoal + charcoal pencils, oil pastels, compressed charcoal, ink, colored wash, and a kneaded eraser. Participants will practice the three main contrasts in using color in drawing and painting including tonal value, hue and saturation. Using a kneaded eraser will reveal how to draw and “erase back” for maximum effects and understanding of drawing. The full reveal of hand position in order to “draw from your total body” with a clear mind and open heart will come into harmonious alignment. The big secret underlying Vermeer’s paintings and Rembrant’s cross-hatched prints from copper plates will be revealed and practiced throughout this very unusual drawing course.
