Description

Fused Glass Heart Workshop 

In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll be introduced to the colorful and creative world of glass fusing while designing a beautiful fused glass heart. Learn the fundamentals of working with glass as you cut, layer, and assemble vibrant pieces into a heartfelt design that will be fused in the kiln.

Perfect for first-timers and curious creatives alike, this hands-on class offers a relaxed and welcoming environment to explore glass art, experiment with color and texture, and create a meaningful piece of art. Once fired, your finished heart will be mounted by your facilitator in a 12″ square frame—ready to display or gift.

PLEASE NOTE: Completed, mounted heart projects will be ready for pick-up at The Forge the week following class, or you may choose mail delivery for a small shipping and handling fee.

Class Details

  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Ages: Adults and 15+ (Ages 12–14 may participate when accompanied by an adult; the accompanying adult may observe or purchase a ticket to participate)
  • Price: $95 + $30 materials
  • All Materials Provided
  • Class Size: Minimum 3 / Maximum 7
  • Please note: If the class does not meet the minimum enrollment, it will be postponed.

What You Will Learn

  • Introduction to Glass Fusing: Learn the basics of cutting, layering, and safely working with glass.
  • Design & Create: Plan and assemble your own unique fused glass heart.
  • Kiln Firing & Finishing: Your heart will be kiln-fired after class and mounted in a 12″ square frame by the instructor.

Join us for a warm, creative experience and take home a stunning fused glass heart that captures both craftsmanship and love.

Marcy Speck

Marcy Speck

Marcy Speck is a glass artist and teacher who lives in Nevada City. She’s worked with fused and flameworked glass for the past 15 years. She retired from a career in the software industry a few years ago but has always been intrigued with the color, light and textures of glass art. She enjoys teaching others and seeing what they envision and create.

Please note: All classes require a minimum number of participants and may be rescheduled if that minimum is not met. If this happens, we’ll let you know in advance and work with you to get you into the next available class.
