Mud Buddies: Adult and Child Clay Play

Discover the delightful world of clay with our “Mud Buddies” workshop, a special two-session class designed for parents, caregivers, and children to explore the art of ceramics together. Join us and experience the joy of turning a chunk of clay into a beautiful and unique pottery piece.

Session Details:

  • Session 1: You and your child will get hands-on with clay, learning the basics of handbuilding techniques. Discover how to roll clay using a slab roller, design, cut, and impress a variety of textures into your creation for that personal touch. The first session ends with your pieces being set to bisque fire, preparing them for glazing.
  • Session 2: The real fun begins as you return to your bisque-fired pieces and dive into the world of glazing. Choose from a range of colors and learn techniques to apply glaze, transforming your creations with vibrant finishes that you’ll treasure.

Your ceramic pieces will be glaze fired and ready for pick up within approximate 10 days after your last class.

What You Will Learn:

  • Fundamental handbuilding techniques to shape and design clay.
  • How to use a slab roller to prepare clay for designing.
  • Various texturing techniques to personalize pottery pieces.
  • The process of bisque firing and glazing ceramics.

  • Dates & Times: Wednesdays 9/10 & 9/17, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM.
