Draw What You See! A Beginner-Friendly Drawing Workshop

Have you ever wanted to draw what’s right in front of you but didn’t know where to start? In this hands-on two-day workshop, you’ll gain simple yet powerful skills to help you break through the intimidation of a blank page and create accurate, satisfying drawings of real-life objects.

Designed for beginners and those looking to refine their drawing skills, this class focuses on observation-based drawing techniques that will give you the confidence to accurately capture shape, proportion, and placement. Whether you’re an adult or a focused young artist (ages 10+), you’ll develop a solid foundation that will transform the way you see and draw.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Negative Space: Train your eyes to see shapes and forms more accurately.
  • Gesture Drawing: Capture movement and essence with quick, expressive sketches.
  • Visual Measuring: Learn techniques to compare proportions and angles for precise drawing.
  • Shading & Shadowing: (as needed) Add depth and dimension to bring your drawings to life.

What You’ll Create:

Each class will focus on drawing a still-life composition using the techniques covered. Your drawings can be considered finished works or built upon later for further development. Warm-up exercises and quick worksheets will help reinforce key skills.

Class Details:

  • Dates: Mondays (see options tab for exact dates)
  • Time: 4:00 PM – 6:15 PM
  • Ages: Adults & youth 10+
