Flameworking 101: Discover Your Inner Fire
Step up to the torch with artist–instructor Zina Losi for a beginner-friendly introduction to the craft of flameworking (also known as lampworking). In this hands-on workshop, you’ll explore how heat, gravity, and simple tools transform molten glass into art.
You’ll learn the essentials—studio safety, flame chemistry, and heat control—along with foundational techniques like pulling stringers, making gathers, shaping with graphite, and adding dots and color accents. Your first projects may include a wearable pendant or a small sculpture, and you’ll also get a walkthrough of finishing and annealing so your creations are strong, durable, and ready to take home.
